Your Ultimate Netflix Guide
If you have a Netflix subscription, odds are you’ve heard about or even seen most of these shows. After all, Netflix is known to put out some of the greatest TV hits, but every now and then, even them fail hard. With that in mind, here is the best and worst of Netflix.
1. Breaking Bad
For many, Breaking Bad is considered the best TV show in the world. It got its start on AMC in 2008, but two years later Netflix would take over. Starring Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul, this show follows a chemistry teacher turned kingpin, and is universally loved for its intense drama and character development.
2. The Queen’s Gambit
Netflix describes The Queen’s Gambit as a cerebral show, and it certainly lives up to the hype. Starring Anya Taylor-Joy, it follows a young orphan that becomes a chess prodigy while struggling in a male-dominated world and her own substance issues.
3. Stranger Things
Stranger Things will certainly go down as one of the TV greats, and it solidified the fame of upcoming actors like Millie Bobby Brown and Finn Wolfhard. Set in the 80s, this show follows a group of kids as they uncover government experiments and supernatural creatures, and fans adore it for its nostalgic vibe and strong performances.
4. BoJack Horseman
Starring Will Arnett and Amy Sedaris, BoJack Horseman follows a cynical ex-TV star as he struggles with his own self-worth in Hollywood. It’s full of dark humor and social commentary, and fans adore it for its depth and growth.
5. Wednesday
Starring Jenna Ortega, Wednesday plays off the original Addams family character as she attends school and solves a supernatural mystery. Offering a fresh new look into the adored Addams family world, it’s no surprise this became a fan favorite.

6. Dark
Dark is a German sci-fi thriller that follows interconnected families impacted by fate and time travel. It is considered one of the most brilliant sci-fi series of all time, and to this day fans are hooked on its complex storytelling and mind-bending twists.
7. Adolescence
This series got a lot of views as it premiered in 2025 and began to hook audiences. A 13-year-old boy is arrested for a heinous crime, and viewers can only look on in shock as parents confront their worst nightmare.
8. Bridgerton
Based off the books by Julia Quinn, Shonda Rhimes takes the reins for a TV adaptation and wows audiences with her stunning set design, inclusive cast, and stellar musical score adapting modern songs into classical ones. The love stories, while a bit stereotypical, are irresistible in the lavish setting.
9. Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story
This dramatization retells the story of Jeffrey Dahmer, a prolific criminal who exploited victims and did absolutely heinous things. The show was also the source of controversy as many believe it sensationalized or glorified real-life trauma.
10. The Night Agent
On a lighter note, The Night Agent serves as a political thriller starring Gabriel Basso. Fans adore this show for its fast pace, suspenseful twists, and often compare it to The Bodyguard and 24.
Now that we have talked about some of Netflix’s hits, let’s discuss its misses.
1. Hype House
You’ve probably never heard of Hype House, and that’s likely for the best. It’s essentially an ensemble of teenage social-media wannabes who really aren’t that well-known. It just follows TikTokers around and nothing much happens.
2. The Goop Lab
Gwyneth Paltrow is a famous actress and controversial owner behind Goop, which is a medicinal company that focuses on women’s health and wellness. However, the entire company is controversial due to their basis in fringe science and weird products.

3. Richie Rich
Remakes often fall at the bottom of the barrel in terms of quality. Despite trying to live up to the success of the original 1994 version, this iteration was hated as the just doesn’t work in modern day, and the soulless imagery doesn’t capture the nostalgia of the past.
4. Dad, Stop Embarrassing Me
Starring Jamie Foxx, his star power wasn’t enough to save this show. It follows an owner of a cosmetic company with a teenage daughter trying to learn how to be a father while managing his business. But the lack of creativity left it feeling one-note as it didn’t go anywhere.
5. The I-Land
Perhaps this show was trying to evoke the mysteriousness of Lost, but it certainly failed in that attempt. The show follows characters on a deserted island, but the constant clichés and weird dialogue just make it a snooze.
6. Blockbuster
This show set out to become a new Office, but unfortunately it failed despite the star power of Melissa Fumero and Randall Park. The plot is messy, the story is full of comedy tropes, and the characters just feel lazy and lackluster.
7. Prank Encounters
This is one of those hidden camera television shows that try to scare people for the fun of the audience. It’s actually hosted by Gaten Matarazzo of Stranger Things fame, but the format just doesn’t stand the test of time anymore, and the lack of originality left viewers bored.
8. Keep Breathing
This show follows an uptight lawyer who ends up having to survive in the elements after a plane crash. It tried to piggyback off the popularity of Yellowjackets, but its lack of focus on survival and odd pacing just make it forgettable.
9. Chasing Cameron
This show also tried to connect with youths by bringing up other media formats, in this case, Vine. It follows Cameron Dallas, a Viner still stuck in his past glory days. Not much really happens, and the cast just isn’t all that entertaining.

10. The Mist
Despite the phenomenal success of the movie and novel, this TV show just doesn’t deliver. In fact, many fans were upset with the discrepancies between the show and the book, as the show didn’t even include any scary monsters in the mist.
