The 10 Strongest Anime Characters of All Time & The 10 Weakest

Over 9000

When it comes to power scaling, animes are known to present some of the coolest characters around. That being said, this list breaks down the best of the best, as well as those that are little more than a liability.

1. Saitama

From One Punch Man, which is a superhero parody, Saitama is clearly the most powerful being around. He’s capable of taking anybody down with just one punch, which makes him extremely overpowered. Unfortunately for him, that makes life quite boring.

2. Zen-Oh

Zen-Oh is an omnipotent being from Dragon Ball Super, and despite looking childlike, he is literally able to erase the entire universe with a flick of his hand. Luckily, he hides his ultimate capabilities through his appearance.

4. Madara Uchiha

From Naruto Shippuden, Madara is a genius with a long history of battle experiences. He has god-like chakra control and is even able to resurrect through his powers. In the anime, he is near-unstoppable and is capable of wiping out entire armies on his own.

5. Satoru Gojo

Gojo is a fan-favorite character in Jujutsu Kaisen, and is capable of manipulating space itself. He can make it so enemies can’t touch him, and is even capable of erasing people out of existence, making him the most powerful sorcerer alive.

6. Meliodas

Meliodas is one of the main characters in The Seven Deadly Sins, and is the leader of their rag-tag group. He is known as the Dragon Sin of Wrath and has the ability to reflect magic attacks and go full-demon when needed.

8. All Might

All Might is a trope character from My Hero Academia who essentially stands as the strongest hero around. In his prime, he was undefeatable, and is a figure everyone looks up to as the ideal hero.

9. Natsu Dragneel

Natsu is a fiery mage from the anime Fairy Tail. He is a Dragon Slayer capable of manipulating fire and even turning into stronger forms. He’s all about protecting his friends, and essentially pushes past most challenges through determination and firepower.

10. Monkey D. Luffy

Luffy is the main character of the One Piece anime, and he has the ability to stretch and become rubbery. While he appears goofy, he’s still very capable and determined, and can essentially deflect and punch through anything.

Now that we have talked about the strongest anime characters around, here are 10 that are clearly the weakest.

1. Magikarp

Pokémon is technically an anime, and Magikarp is technically a character in the show. Considered one of the most useless and powerless Pokémon around, the only reason people catch Magikarp is to evolve him into his more capable Gyarados form.

2. Nobita Nobi

From the anime Doraemon, Nobita is known to be clumsy, lazy, and quite slow. He’s always in need of rescuing, and often fails at even the most basic challenges, making him the antithesis of a regular shonen hero.

3. Oolong

From the anime Dragon Ball, Oolong is capable of shapeshifting, but only for five minutes at a time. He mostly uses these powers to disguise himself, and is quite cowardly and useless in a fight.

4. Emperor Pilaf

Another character from Dragon Ball, Pilaf relies on gadgets, traps, and henchmen to get ahead. But despite this, his plans often backfire and he really lacks follow-through.

5. Kon

Kon is a character from Bleach that has superhuman strength, albeit in an adorable and plush body. Despite this, his strength is very limited and he often prefers to run away and avoid battles.

6. Puar

Returning to Dragon Ball, Puar is a shapeshifter like Oolong, but isn’t hindered by time restrictions. Despite this, when it comes to fighting, she’s pretty helpless, and is limited to using her shapeshifting for spying.

7. Nunnally Lamperouge

From the anime Code Geass, Nunnally is as weak as it gets. She’s emotionally fragile and paralyzed, but despite this, her character is contrasted by her strong spirit. In fact, her spirit represents moral goodness.

8. Yuki Cross

From the romance anime Vampire Knight, Yuki is as useless as it gets. She’s the protagonist but has absolutely no agency or ability, and is just kind of thrown around by the male love interests in the show. She does eventually gain power, but even then fails to use them effectively.

9. Udon

From Boruto, Udon is a water-style ninja that is honestly kind of gross. His powers are unimpressive, and he goes through the whole show mostly crying and sneezing, providing plenty of comic relief but no substance.

10. Yamcha

While Dragon Ball Z is full of capable heroes, Yamcha is not one of them. While he was once a promising fighter in the original show, he’s quickly outclassed. He’s a tough guy, but just doesn’t compare to the other Saiyans.
